A Related Detail tab displays one record’s fields using its Salesforce page layout. It follows the focused row in a Grid or Related Grid in the same item.

Choose Which Record to Display

The Source Key determines which record opens: For example, use Id to show a contact’s details, or AccountId to show that contact’s account details. Related Detail follows focus, not checkbox selection, and displays one record at a time.

View Record Details

Focus a saved row in the source grid. The detail tab loads the record and the Salesforce page layout for its record type. The layout determines the sections and fields; your Salesforce permissions determine what you can access. If no source row is focused, the tab asks you to focus a row. If the chosen reference field is empty, there is no referenced record to display. New unsaved grid rows cannot supply a saved record for the detail tab. Click Refresh in the detail tab to reload the record. Use Edit to change supported fields; see Edit Record Details.

Display Source and Details Together

Use separate item layout areas for the source grid and detail tab. You can then move between source rows while keeping their details visible. See Set Up Related Detail to create the tab or change its source.
