A Grid tab displays records from a Salesforce object in an Excel-like table. Choose columns, narrow the records with filters and search, and edit values directly in cells.

Create a Grid

1

Add a Grid Tab

In an item, click New Tab and select Grid.
2

Choose an Object

Search for and select the Salesforce object. Enable Show All Objects if you need to browse beyond the common objects.
3

Name the Tab

Enter the Tab Name.
4

Save the Tab

Click Save.

Configure a Grid

Open the tab menu and click Edit. The settings are organized into Basic, Options, Columns, Filters, Search, Sorting, Formatting, Actions, and Tools.
  • Options control row and header heights, selection and sorting behavior, and data loading and saving limits.
  • Columns control the fields and formulas displayed in the grid.
  • Filters, Search, and Sorting help you find and organize records.
  • Editing explains how to change and save record values.
  • Formatting controls how values appear.
  • Actions let you run operations and workflows from the grid.
Your Salesforce permissions determine which records and fields you can access or edit. Permission to edit a tab’s configuration is separate from permission to edit its Salesforce records.

Use a Grid as a Source

A Grid can supply records to a Related Grid or Related Detail tab in the same item. Use an item layout to display the source and related tabs together.
